Archeological digs are not allowed without official permission of the owner of the land and the regional directorate of cultural affairs (art. 1, 2 and 19 of the law of September 27 1941).

The use of metal detectors is prohibited without official permission of the Regional Prefecture (Law 89-900 of December 18 1989).

Every year people still die because they pick up old weapons and ammunition in their enthusiasm. Always stay on the marked paths and never pick anything up from the ground.
