101 reasons to visit Romagne (9)

Somewhere in the Argonne Forest lies a trench. That’s not very special, you will find enough trenches there. The bizar element in this German trench is the presence of a trench door. Yes, a trench door. It must have been an experiment, just like the concrete trenches a few miles away from here. The fact that there are still remnants to be found after one century is even more peculiar. To cut a long story short: in my career as photographer of battlefields this is the strangest thing I came upon.
