Museum investigated by French customs
Museum Romagne in trouble
On Thursday, July 3, a large-scale inspection by the French authorities took place at the War for Peace/Romagne 14-18 museum, completely unexpectedly and without prior notice. The suspicion has been raised that Jean-Paul has illegally obtained material in his museum and is exhibiting it.
The collection has been seized.
The case is currently under investigation. More information about the next steps and the consequences for the museum is expected after the summer holidays.
Fortunately, the museum is open as usual. Your visit will be greatly appreciated during this uncertain time and will show your support and appreciation.
We will keep you informed of developments via this website.
No matter how difficult the situation is at present, Jean-Paul is looking to the future with confidence. He is looking forward to your visit, especially the arrival of the countless schoolchildren from home and abroad who have been finding their way to Romagne for many years. They do so not only to visit the museum, but above all to be guided through the fields of remembrance, to learn from history, and to listen to Jean-Paul's stories and his urgent message that war must be prevented at all costs. Jean-Paul remains deeply committed to this mission of peace.
